On the patch that needs to be applied for this build to work at all on Leopard (or probably Tiger too)

Looks like it's been patched in 0.60.2. I'll update the portfile soon. Sorry for the delay, I was having an unforeseen extended break.

Update to 0.60.2 committed in revision:36112 (changelog says the patch you linked to is the only change from 0.60.1). Let me know if this solves the problem.
